California-based motion and CG artist James Bali makes his Stash debut with this tribute to Audi’s erstwhile flagship V10, 562 horsepower, R8 supercar – a full-throttle CG recreation of a much-loved 2013 live-action spot.
James Bali: “Speed is particularly challenging to capture, and it is much more so, when the object in question is literally standing still, in a close environment.
“It required almost every trick in the book, from dust, sparks, vibration and condensation particles flying out of the exhaust pipes to physical camera shakes, procedural lens flares. and correct motion blur. Couple that with the soundtrack from the original ad and voila!”
