Following up recent commercial work for Nintendo, Ubisoft, and Hermès, Eddy directing duo Faux Soleil (aka Simon Duong Van Huyen and Arthur Chaumay) animate a meditative and cinematic music video for German composer/cellist Anne Müller.
From the team at Eddy: “‘Nummer 2’ alternates between microscopic scenes of animal life, where formerly extinct species have mutated and thrive, and vast, sweeping landscapes.
“The rhythm is contemplative, building a sense of place, and atmosphere. The render is at once graphic and photographic, inspiring a sense of familiarity and distance.
“The storyboard and concept were a collaborative effort. Simon designed and animated the animals with a small team of animators. Arthur created the color script and backgrounds, drawing from a range of photographic, architectural and cinematographic influences.”
