Marcel Hita (Hitabarity 3D) and Jaume Mestre (Mestremotion) in Barcelona: “This was a self-promoted project mixing 2D motion design rhythm with a 3D shading and look. The purpose was to experiment with motion design principles, mixing styles, and wondering what the result would be when forgetting about boundaries.
“The main challenge was to translate the 2D motion language to a 3D environment. We started by designing a series of keyframes based on simple shapes with motion potential.
“The next step was to animate these key moments through an exaggerated motion style aiming to create highly dynamic loops.
“From here, we translated the motion pieces to 3D, adding texture and lighting to each loop. We wanted to create a minimalistic yet clean style to keep the focus on the animation while adding some high-end realistic details.
“No motion piece is complete without a good sound design behind it, so we composed the sound effects for the motion pieces, giving an extra dimension to the project.”
