Vasiliy Filileev and Mikhail Sedov at Moscow design and motion studio Subframe: “‘Breath’ [is an] exploration art film that reflects simulation as a challenge to animate these magical dynamic objects in an artistic way, even though the viewer is consuming them through a stylized view.
“Synthetic fiber: In general, synthetic fibers are created by extruding fiber-forming materials through spinnerets. These materials are created by a process known as polymerization, which involves combining monomers to make a long chain or polymer.
“Carbon life: Carbon is a primary component of all known life on Earth, representing approximately 45–50% of all dry biomass. Complex biological molecules almost always consist of carbon atoms bonded with other elements, especially oxygen and hydrogen, and frequently also nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur.
“This our art visualization of how carbon life forms are constructed through molecules and growing systems.”
